GB100J
closes down
The closing ceremony was held on Tuesday evening at the World
Scout Jamboree at Hylands Park, Chelmsford.
While GB100J has been speaking to the world from Hylands
Park, Chelmsford one of the main jobs of the Scouting Amateurs supporting
the event has been to promote Radio Scouting
to the many hundreds of visitors to the Marquee.
All visitors with callsigns have been asked to sign the visitors' book
and invited to operate one of the transceivers using the Jamboree callsign.
Numerous Foundation and Intermediate licence holders have availed themselves
of that opportunity and hundreds of scouts have found a renewed interest
in Radio Scouting.
It bodes well for the 50th Jamboree on the Air in October.

Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (CARS) member Doreen Pechey G8NMO has
been at the event and reports that the soldering activity has proved popular
amongst the Scouts.
