1770 Captain James Cook landed on Australia, claimed
it for the British Crown.
1841 John Hampton of New Orleans, LA, received a patent
for venetian blinds.
1888 William Burroughs of St. Louis, MO patented his
adding machine.
1891 Thomas Edison applied for a movie camera patent.
1891 W.Gray markets coin operated phone boxes, Hartford.

1896 Melbourne Opera House, the first projected film
show in Australia.
1900 C. Perskyi describes 'Television' at Paris Exposition.
1919 George Fisk of AWA does first radio 'broadcast'
in OZ.
1932 The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) began
its first experimental TV broadcast in England.
