The History of Radar

The next meeting of the Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (CARS) on Tuesday
4th September features a talk by Andy Tyler, G1GKN on
the History of Radar.
Andy’s talk will focus on the RAF Chain Home air defence radar
system deployed during the Second World War. The last remaining mast from
this system can be seen at Great Baddow in Chelmsford.
He will be bringing an ADS-B receiver with him for a possible demonstration
and may even try a demo of the VHF ACARS system.
The talk will be held at the Marconi Social Club (MASC), Beehive Lane,
Great Baddow, Chelmsford, CM2 9RX. The doors open at 7:15 pm and visitors
are most welcome. Car parking is free and a bar is available for refreshments.
