Ottawa Amateur Radio Club Fleamarket and Forum

The Ottawa Amateur Radio Club’s 11th annual Fleamarket and Forum will be held again this year on Labour Day weekend, Saturday September 1st, at the Carp agricultural fairgrounds arena. The arena is located on 3970 Carp Rd at Falldown Lane in Carp, just north of the farmer’s market.

Tailgater sales and vendor setup both begin at 8am. The indoor fleamarket is open to the public from 10am until 1pm. General admission is six dollars. For vendors, tailgate spaces are five dollars, and each table inside the arena is twelve.

Both tailgaters and indoor vendors must also purchase general admission tickets. You can reserve arena tables and tailgate spaces by sending an email to fleamarket at oarc dot net or by calling Ed Sich VE3WGO at area code 613 763 3628.

The OARC is pleased to once again sponsor the RAC forum following the fleamarket. Radio Amateurs of Canada host this highly informative event that’s held in the arena’s second floor lounge from one until four pm.

This year RAC will begin with its annual general meeting followed by two presentations. The first is Rovering in VHF Contests by Tom Zinck VA3NFA. The second presentation is D-Star Digital Repeater Technology with Doug Leach VE3XK and Rick Bandla VE3CVG.

The Carp Agricultural Fair Grounds is also the location of the Carp Market. It’s open every Saturday morning from May to October, and is home to more than 100 vendors selling produce, crafts, baked goods and more.
