Ofcom - Ultra-Wideband technology made Licence Exempt

On Thursday Ofcom announced a change in the law to enable the use of Ultra-Wideband technology that wirelessly connects digital devices in the home.

The Wireless Telegraphy (Ultra-Wideband Equipment) (Exemption) Regulations 2007 will come into effect on Monday 13 August 2007.

The document noted one of the concerns raised in the joint submission by the Radio Society of Great Britain, Amsat-UK and UK Microwave Group. This regarded Ofcom's omission of any Activity Control mechanism which could reduce potential
interference to other users.
