Chelmsford talk - The work of the IARUOn Tuesday August 4, the Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (CARS) are fortunate to have a presentation by Peter Chadwick G3RZP on the work of the IARU The bands we take for granted today were not gifted to us by The International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) which represents amateurs at this level was formed in 1925. In his own inimitable way Peter (an IARU Technical Consultant and a past RSGB President in 1993) will tell us the history of how we won or lost our frequencies and what's in store in future. His extensive knowledge will also provide an excellent background for questions on this or other topics after the break The talk titled 'Where do our Wavelengths come from? - The work of the IARU' takes place this Tuesday August 4 at the Marconi Social Club (MASC), Beehive Lane, Great Baddow, Chelmsford, CM2 9RX. The doors open at 7:10 pm and the meeting gets underway at 7:30 pm. Car parking is free and a bar is available for refreshments.
