Castor and Pollux Frequencies

Henk PA3GUO has provided what he believes to be the actual frequencies of the two new Amateur Satellites Castor and Pollux.

In a posting on the AMSAT Bulletin Board he writes:

My observation, confirmed by Mike, DK3WN, is that for best results the following downlink frequencies should be assumed:

POLLUX: 145.826 MHz 1200 bd AFSK
CASTOR: 145.828 MHz 1200 bd AFSK

Henk, PA3GUO

As yet there has been no confirmation from the ANDE development team of these frequencies. The nominal frequency of the two satellites was 145.825 MHz but it is not unusual for the operational frqeuency of a satellite once deployed to be slightly different.

In addition the signals from both satellites will experience doppler shift of approx +/- 3 kHz on the frequencies quoted.

Special QSL cards will be available for reception reports of Castor and Pollux, see
