The next time you can't find a potentiometer in your junk box that's just the right value, don't worry, just get the XYL to crochet one for you.

Using conductive wool, Hannah Perner-Wilson made these crochet potentiometers. The metal beads in the center work as the wiper. Watch this Youtube vide:
