Marmara Earthquake Commemorative Stations

Apart from the TC17A (formerly TC17EQ) commemorative station , there will be two other stations on the air to remember the 1999 Marmara Earthquake.

TC99Y and TC99K will be operating from Yalova and Kocaeli as of Friday, August 14 and they will be on the air till Monday August 17.

TCSWAT will be on the air to remember those who lost their lives in this natural disaster. There will be two stations; one from Yalova – TC99Y and one from Kocaeli- TC99K .

Since the anniversary coincides with the International Lighthouse Weekend, stations will be located in lighthouses on the coast of Marmara Sea. TC99Y will be active from Bozburun Lighthouse in Yalova (KN40JM) and TC99K from Yelkenkaya Lighthouse TUR-054 in Kocaeli (KN40QS). TC1LHW, a TCSWAT classic, will also be on the air from Karaburun Lighthouse TUR-036 on the Black Sea coast.

Activity will be mainly on HF SSB, VHF-UHF FM.
