New Australian Bandplans

The Australian National Society, the WIA, has released revised band bands, the changes include CTCSS tones, Echolink and D-STAR frequencies

91.5 Hz is the new CTCSS tone for standard repeater activation in Australia and replaces 123 Hz which is no longer recommended for future repeaters due to problems with false detecting.

141.3 or 146.2 Hz are to be used to activate links to repeaters on other VHF/UHF bands.

85.4 Hz will be used to activate links to other bands that some operators are not permitted to use.

The band plans also include details of the recommended frequencies for simplex D-Star and Echolink operation and a new interim band plan for the 2200 Metre (135.7 - 137.8 kHz) band
