Norfolk Island VK9NI DXpedition

More than 12,000 contacts were made by VK9NI OC-005 during mainly the RSGB IOTA contest 25 & 26 July on 160m through to 10m despite poor band conditions.

A nine-member team ran multiple stations using phone, CW and RTTY with an antenna farm including Folded Marconi’s for 160m & 80m, a 2-element mono-band 40m beam and five-band Spider Beams on the higher bands.

A video presentation of the DX-pedition has been taken with its first showing will be at the Hellenic Amateur Radio Associating meeting at Sans Souci, check out the club’s website www.haraoa.com

The VK9NI operators were Tommy VK2IR, Chris VK3FY, Keith VK3FT, Peter VK3FGRC, Allan VK2GN, Andy VK5MAV, Tony VK3TZ, Raffy VK2RF and Peter VK2FPGR.
