Aussie Fisheries Minister calls on hams
to help deter illegal fishing

ABC Radio in Australia has reported on a 'Dobbing in' program to deter illegal fishing.

All state and territory governments have agreed to a compliance program to deter illegal fishing.

Federal Fisheries Minister Ian Macdonald says "We're seeking the assistance of all people involved, out fishing in pleasure craft, and people on amateur radio who might pick up some information that could be of importance.

We encourage people to dob-in the wrong-doers so we in turn can protect our natural marine ecosystem."
