K6KPH on-air for Straight Key Night 2005

The US Maritime Radio Historical Society has announced that station K6KPH will once again be on the air on New Year's Eve as a participant in Straight Key Night 2005.

For those who don't remember it, K6KPH is a memorial to a now retired US Maritime station, whose callsign was KPH.

And KPH itself will also be on the air with transmissions from dusk to dawn (Pacific time) on MF. The station hopes its overnight transmissions will give listeners the best chance to hear the MF signal. They are particularly interested in reception reports of the MF transmissions.

Straight Key Night is an annual event sponsored by the ARRL each New Year's Eve. The objective of SKN is relaxed CW exchanges between participating stations using only straight keys - no bugs or electronic keys are allowed.
Some of the best CW operators in the game are traditionally heard on SKN.

K6KPH will be on 3545, 7050, 14,050 and 21,050 kilocycles for Straight Key Night 2005 between zero hours and 2400 hours GMT on January 1, 2005
