Barrle of Verdun Special Event Station

From February 21-27th Bernard, F5LPY, will be TM90BV in the Verdun area.

The special event station will commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Battle of Verdun during WWI.

Bernard will transmit some SSB, but the goal is to transmit mainly in CW which was the main mode used at the time.

The activity will begin at the "Bois des Caures", February 21, 2006, at 07:30 (06:30 UTC) - time and location of the first bombing, exactly 90 years after the same day and time.

February 22nd, the activity will take place from the Fort de Douaumont, February 23rd from the Fort de Vaux, February 24th from the Battle HQ in the village of Souilly or from the Sacred Road.

On February 25th and 26th this callsign will be entering the French HF DX Championship SSB. The location is yet to be chosen for this final activity. QSL via F5LPY.
