New award for summit activators

The Summits on the Air (SOTA) management team has launched a new award - SOTA Uniques - for those who enjoy both rambling and amateur radio.

The SOTA Uniques award is given to radio amateurs when they activate a set number of summits, regardless of the number of SOTA points they achieve.

Different versions of the award are available for the activation of 100, 250, 500 and 1,000 of the 7,793 qualifying summits in the world.

The new award is aimed at leading activators who have already amassed SOTA points in excess of the Mountain Goat / Shack Sloth awards.
