Amateur radio station in World Heritage site

On 14th July 2005, the Vredefort Dome, near Parys and Vredefort in the Free State, was declared a World Heritage Site.

Chris, ZS6BYQ, from Potchefstroom will set up an amateur radio field station on a farm in the area, to celebrate this event.

Chris will operate daily from 22 to 27 December as ZS6BYQ/4/F on 40 metre SSB. A limited number of unique QSL cards, showing the dome area as it was photographed from the International Space Station during June 2004, will be available.

Include a SASE with your QSL card and send it to
10 Goedehoop Street, Potchefstroom, 2520, South Africa.
