Hundreds of complaints following end of Dutch analogue terrestrial TVThe closure of the Dutch analogue TV transmitters on Sunday night has led to hundreds of complaints from viewers. The website geenbeeld.nl (geenbeeld = no picture) had already received 300 messages by mid-afternoon yesterday. The main problem seemed to be poor reception of the replacement digital terrestrial service. In some towns, such as Eindhoven, Doetinchem en Bennekom, people were complaining that reception was totally impossible. In other parts of the country, reception was not optimal. Digital terrestrial operator Digitenne had supplied indoor antennas along with the equipment, and this proved insufficient. Arjan Wiertz of TeVolutie Magazine, operator of the website, says that receiving the signals by satellite is a better alternative. Source: Media Network, ANP
