Birthday beacon QSY

This low powered beacon, to be heard on the 30m band celebrating the 95th birthday of Amateur Radio Victoria, has changed frequency to 10.145MHz and welcomes signal reports.

It began beaconing on the 30th of November, the foundation date in 1911 of the Amateur Wireless Society of Victoria at a meeting of wireless telegraphy experimenters, in Melbourne.

In May 1913, it changed its name to the "Wireless Institute of Victoria" and today is the state-wide organisation, Amateur Radio Victoria.

The 5-watt CW beacon with special callsign VK3RTS/95, welcomes reception reports QTHR VK3WI, via the Bureau or email to 95@amateurradio.com.au
