Scouting and Guiding in NZ
Canterbury Jamboree or 'CJAM'
New Zealand's Canterbury Jamboree or 'CJAM'
is on at the end of the year over the Christmas break.
CJAM is happening 28 December to 5 January for campers. Set-up 27 December
and take down 6 January 2008.
It will be an international scouting event. Over 4000
scouts and 1000 visitors are expected. This will be Amateur Radio in Canterbury's
last chance for the next 20 years to demonstrate amateur radio to a large
range of people.
Volunteers are required to make the camp a success.
Before you can attend you must undergo a Scout check. Unfortunately this
is mandatory and can not be waived. Without a scout warrant you will not
be permitted onsite.
The more people we have to volunteer the less everyone will have to
do. Let's show everyone what amateur radio is all about while we have
the chance. Remember this is a once in 20 year event! Even if you can
only volunteer to help set up then its better than nothing at all.
Remember its for the kids, lets not let them down.
