New Russian SpaceportThe Russian Federation is planning a new space port, the Vostochny Cosmodrome, at Amur Oblast, in the Russian Far East. Construction is planned to start in 2010 although a feasability study has still to determine it's exact location. The site will reduce the Russian Federations dependence on the Baikonur cosmodrome located in neighbouring Kazakhstan. Putin Signs Off on New Cosmodrome
