Australian amateur radio clubs get new promotional tool
A new resource has been created for all amateur radio clubs in Australia;
The Australian Amateur Radio News and Information Exchange (AARNIE).
AARNIE is a newsgroup for Australian Amateur Radio Clubs to post their club
newsletters and events.
Often club newsletters are distributed only to club
members. AARNIE offers the ability to extend the reach of YOUR club to many
more people, including those that may be interested in Amateur Radio but do
not yet have a licence.
Some of the benefits of using AARNIE are:
Open to all Australian Amateur Radio Clubs and interested people
(only clubs can post)
A cheap efficient way of getting your newsletter out to hundreds of Radio
Amateurs and other interested people instantly.
Promote your club activities; HamFests, tech nights, courses and assessments
to a wider audience than what you might normally achieve.
No email list to maintain.
No bounced messages to clog your in-box.
Less chance of YOUR personal email address blacklisted by a SPAM cop service.
Entice travellers to visit you club when passing through.
A monitored list allowing only PDF file attachments to pass.
To have a look at AARNIE, and what it has to offer, visit the newsgroup home
page at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/
aarnie/ or go to Yahoo Groups and type AARNIE into the news groups search page
And although there now is AARNIE please remember clubs that the major way of
advising what goes on in your club area is through the free WIA event
calendar on wia.org.au
