Chelmsford Foundation Training Course starts 26th February
The dedicated team of Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (CARS) volunteers will be starting their next Foundation evening course on 26th February. The course, held at Danbury Village Hall, is six weeks of practical and theory, but the view from previous course attendees, is that it's not just boring theory but a whole load of fun as well. Learning about radio communications then complimenting what you have been taught by using the radio works well for most people and it's easier to take all the information in.
Radio Amateurs not only communicate all over the world but into space as well. Most of the astronauts currently onboard the International Space Station are licenced Radio Amateurs and during their spare time they talk to other Radio Amateurs back on earth.
To do all this, it is necessary to obtain an amateur transmitting licence.
