Ofcom update on Maritime & Aeronautical Administered Incentive Pricing

On Wednesday the UK regulator Ofcom published the next steps on its proposals to introduce Administered Incentive Pricing (AIP) for the maritime and aeronautical sectors.

Ofcom is currently considering the responses received from stakeholders on the proposals. They are also looking at a number of issues raised during the consultation in more detail.

They are working closely with consultants with expertise in the maritime and aeronautical sectors and Ofcom will be discussing these issues with the Civil Aviation Authority and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.

Ofcom now expect to publish a further, more detailed set of proposals for fees in the VHF communications bands, with an impact assessment, in spring 2009.
