Ofcom statement - analogue interleaved frequencies

On Tuesday the UK regulator Ofcom published a statement, following a technical consultation, on the process for temporarily assigning analogue interleaved frequencies (470-862MHz).

This would allow for the introduction of new high definition services on digital terrestrial television, ahead of digital switchover in some areas.

The early launch of these services is dependant on the availability of frequencies in a particular location, and agreement by the BBC (who operates Multiplex B) along with Channel 4, S4C and the Channel 3 licensees who are already licensed to launch services on Multiplex B.
