Historic scientific papers now online

The Royal Society has made available 60 key research papers published since the Great Fire of London in 1666.

The Society, one of the world's oldest scientific institutions, has made the papers available to celebrate the start of it's 350th year.

Among the papers available are:

1800 The invention of the first electric battery By Alessandro Volta.
1851 A relationship between gravity and electricity? By Michael Faraday.
1865 Theory of the electromagnetic field By James Clerk Maxwell.
1920 Eclipse expeditions: testing Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity.
1991 Solar flares observed from the Hinotori satellite
