Birth of Itoshima City - special event station

Amateur Radio special event station 8J6ISM will be aired from 19 December, 2009 to 31 January, 2010 to celebrate the birth of Itoshima City (JCC#4036), Fukuoka Prefecture, Kyushu Shima (Shima means Island in Japanese language)
(IOTA AS-077, JIIA AS-077-001, WLOTA LH-0963).

A planned merger of municipalities will be implemented on 01 January, 2010.

The City of Maebaru and the towns of Nijo and Shima will merge into the new City of Itoshima. Itoshima District will cease to exist.
