Tatsfield Receiving Station

Pictures and information about the Tatsfield Receiving Station are now available on the BBC Engineering website.

In 1925, the BBC established a temporary receiving station at Keston, Surrey and in 1929/30 they constructed a permanent station near the village of Tatsfield.

Its original purpose was to monitor the technical characteristics of BBC transmissions, but by the late 1930's it was also monitoring transmissions from overseas.
