UK Government looks for 500MHz spectrum

The Register carries an article by Bill Ray on plans to grab up to 500 MHz of spectrum for broadband Internet.

The article points out that if large chunks of Ministry of Defence spectrum are sold off, the new owners are unlikely to be willing to share it with others.

All Amateur Radio UHF and Microwave bands are shared with either the MoD or the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
