Amateur Radio FASTRAC sat video

Luciano Fabricio, PY5LF, has produced a video showing reception of the two Amateur Radio FASTRAC satellites, Sara Lily and Emma on 145.825 and 437.345MHz FM

The video shows clearly the effects of Doppler shift on the two frequencies. Sara Lilly's transmitter appears at 437.354 at the start of the orbit and 437.335MHz at the end while Emma's transmitter on the lower frequency two meter band has less Doppler shift with the received frequency ranging over 145.822 to 145.828MHz.

As well as using the Amateur Radio AX.25 packet standard to send data down to Earth they also pass data between each other, They can be seen talking to each other after the third beacon transmission (7:30 into the video).

Watch Signal of "Sara Lily and Emma" over Brazil in 17DEC2010.
