French concerns over 1.2 GHz band

At a recent CCPD-CSF meeting, the concerns of the French ATV Association (ANTA) were raised regarding the use of the Amateur Radio 23cm band by the Galileo and Glosnass satellite navigation systems.

The EU Galileo system will use 1260-1300 MHz while the Russian Federation Glosnass system will be on 1240-1260 MHz. Both system are expected to be operational by 2015.
