Midland Amateur Radio Society anniversary

As part of its 80th anniversary celebrations, the Midland Amateur Radio Society (MARS) will be running a special event station from as many different locations as possible.  The callsign which has been granted is GB8OTH (GB8 Oscar Tango Hotel).
The first activation will be Wednesday 5th January 2011 from 19:00-21:00 on 80m and 2m.

An award scheme is in the process of being finalised and will be running for 12 months from 1st January 2011 to 31st December 2011.  Please see QRZ.COM GX3MAR for more details.

It has been finalised that the two charities will be British Wireless for the Blind Fund and Royal National Lifeboat Institute.  All accounts connected with the award scheme will be available for view on the MARS web site, and will be updated once a week from the end of January 2011.

If more information is required then please contact MARS on gx1mar@live.co.uk.

Thanks for your help

Yours
