G5RP Trophy presented to M1SMH

Congratulations to Stuart Heathcock, M1SMH, who has been presented with this year’s G5RP Trophy.

The trophy is awarded jointly by the Vale of the White Horse Amateur Radio Society and the Radio Society of Great Britain for the amateur who, in the opinion of the awarding committee, has shown the greatest improvement in HF DXing during the past year.

Stuart, who is a member of the Radio Society of Harrow, was first licensed as M3BZI in 2002. He quickly discovered HF DXing on 20 metres and worked 63 DXCC entities within his first six months on the air.

His enthusiasm led him to take the Advanced exam and he became M1SMH in July 2003. Stuart achieved his next goal of 100 DXCC entities after a few more months.

The G5RP Trophy was presented to Stuart at RSGB Headquarters on 21 February.
