International IRLP Contest

Now here's an intriguing one. it's the First Annual Aussie American International IRLP Contest. Yes Sirree, this one's for IRLP contacts only.

Roly McMillan, VK3KXW tells us that this contest starts on March 18 at 0001 UTC, and is running for a full month until April the 17th at 2359 UTC.

So, how does it work?

• You get one point for a contact with someone not in the contest and is in your own country;

• You get two points for a contact with someone who is in the contest and is in your own country;

• You get two points for a contact with someone in another country who is not in the contest;

• You get three points for a contact with someone in the contest in another country; and

• You get five points for a contact with single node countries and special event stations such as the International Space Station and so on.

It that lot's simply too much to digest, the full official rules are posted at the Bass Amateur Radio IRLP group's website at http://www.qsl.net/vk3irl
