Cute-1.7 launchedThe Amateur Satellite Cute-1.7 callsign JQ1YCC was successfully launched at 21:28 UTC on Tuesday 21st February. It was developed by students at Laboratory for Space Systems, Tokyo Institute of Technology and is just 100mm x 100mm x 100mm in size and weighs 1kg. As well as providing a Packet Digipeater, the satellite will also take pictures of the Earth and download them on 70cm for Amateurs to receive. The CW telemetry will be on 437.385 MHz, however, the Digipeater will not be activated until sometime after launch.
