Irish Radio Transmitters Society - DXpedition 2007

Following the request for 'expressions of interest' in an Irish Radio Transmitters Society DXpedition to Southern Africa as part of the 75th Jubilee celebrations, 15 EIs and GIs responded.

Over the next month, based on feedback received, more
detailed planning will take place, however it is evident that there is considerable interest in Contest operation, so it is likely that the trip will be planned to coincide with either the ARRL DX SSB Contest or the CQWW WPX SSB Contest.

Frosty, K5LBU, one of the directors of African DX Safari, will come to Ireland over the weekend of the 11th and 12th of March, to further brief prospective participants.

On Saturday the 11th, Frosty will be in the Monteque Hotel, Portlaoise on the Saturday afternoon between 2 and 4pm and also at the Limerick Rally on Sunday the 12th. In addition to slide presentations of recent expeditions to various Southern
African countries, Frosty will be able to answer any questions regarding operating conditions, station facilities, accommodation etc.

All are welcome to attend, whether you are already signed up, or if you have a possible interest in joining the team, or even if you just have a general interest in DXing.
