Monitoring SuitSat around the worldAlthough we won't be able to receive the first pass of SuitSat in the UK there is a way to hear the first transmission which takes place at 22:36 UTC 16 minutes after launch. The web provides us with a network of remotely controlled receivers such as those at http://www.dxtuners.com/ Search google for "Java Radio" or "Remote Controlled Radio" for others. Using these remote radios it'll be possible to follow the progress of SuitSat around the globe. SuitSat will transmit on 145.990 MHz FM but the International Space Station
should also be providing a relay of SuitSats signal on 437.800 MHz FM.
The 437.800 signal will be a lot stronger and easier to receive on simple Predicted SuitSat Pass times for the UK
You can watch the SuitSat launch live at 22:20 UTC on Friday 3rd February at http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/ A special QSL Certificate is available for reception reports, see http://www.southgatearc.org/news/ Those wishing to record the 145.990 MHz FM signal from SuitSat (or 437.800
relay) overnight or while they are at work may like to try VOX Recorder
