Amateur Radio Newsline's Lou Belsky, K2VMR - S.K.

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of our 'eyes and ears' in the NYC / NJ metro area -
Lou Belsky, K2VMR
.

Lou died just before 2 a.m. Wednesday morning from complications of an aggressive form of cancer.

Many of you who are new to the ARNewsline family likely never knew Lou. Simply said - he was one of the good guys. No matter what we needed done in the NY area - Lou provided the service. It was his pleasure to do so.

He and I go way back to the early 1960's. We met through another ham buddy and were close friends for almost half a century.

When I got my first color TV set - long before most folks had one - it was Lou who scurried over and installed an antenna on my roof so that the two of us could watch the premiere of the original Star Trek on it.

And when one night at about 2 a.m. I suffered an attack of kidney stones, it was Lou who drove me to the hospital, stayed with me in the ER until it passed, drove me home and then went out shopping so that I would have food in the house.

Lou was my friend - and I will miss him. I ask that you keep him and his family in your prayers.
