SA clubs urged to link their repeaters for President's NetThe President of the SARL, Graham Hartlett, has urged clubs to link their repeaters to the teleconference network carrying the President's net and Intecnet. He said that the monthly President's Net is a two-way communication channel for radio amateurs to interact with the SARL and to provide input to the Council or raise concerns they may have about developments in Amateur Radio. On the other hand, it is also a channel to keep radio amateurs informed of the activities of the SARL and the work that the Council is doing. The next President's Net is this evening at 19:00 when Graham will discuss the opportunities that Club committees have to reward radio amateurs that have made a major contribution to Amateur Radio in South Africa on a technical or operational level. The Intecnet will follow at 20:00 this evening with guest speaker Graeme Codrington. He will talk about the generation gap and what we can do to understand the generation of today and help them understand us. He will take us on a journey from the Boomers to the Xers and explain how to bridge the divide. A summary of Graham's talk and an audio clip of what he will be talking about are available for on the SARL Web at www.sarl.org.za. (Club's bulletin stations download the clip to insert into your local bulletin). Clubs wishing to link their repeaters to both the teleconference networks should send an email to armi@sarl.org.za before noon today with details of their repeater coverage and telephone number to be linked. Due to technical constraints only fixed Telkom lines can be linked. Both the President's Net and Intecnet are streamed on the web, link from www.sarl.org.za, click on ARMI and follow the instructions. To listen on Echolink, click on ZS6FCS.
