Two
new SOTA Associations
Two new SOTA Associations have recently joined the programme.
The USA (W2) Association, under the leadership of Andrew
Pepper, KC2EUS starts on 1st March 2007.
This Association covers the states of New York and New Jersey, although
as yet there are no summits defined in New Jersey. Some 120 summits are
already defined in New York state.
SOTA is particularly pleased to have an Association operational in the
USA.
The FRANCE (F) Association, under the leadership of
Lionel Klein, F5NEP will commence operations on 1st April 2007. This Association
covers the whole of the French mainland and offers in excess of 2500 summits!
The SOTA Management Team would especially like to recognise the hard
work by Les, G3VQO in coordinating the creation of this
important new Association.
The launch date of 1st April has been designated as "SOTA Day"
by the French association team and it is expected that several French
summits will be activated on a variety of bands and modes. Activity should
also be busy in the UK, Germany and Switzerland that day as activators
in the most active associations try to get first day summit-to-summit
contacts into France.
