Special Event News

Members of the German Lufthansa ARS will be active from Egypt between 3 and 12 March, using the special Egyptian callsign SU8DLH. Activity will be on all HF bands, CW, SSB and the Digital modes.

Francois, F8DVD, has been issued the special callsign TM4IPY to celebrate the beginning of the 4th International Polar Year, and will be active between 1 and 14 April. Activity will be on all bands, SSB and CW. A special QSL card will be available.

The Torino Paralympic Radio Sport Team will issue a special QSL card (available through the bureau or direct from IZ1CCE) for contacts made with Carlo, IZ1CCE, Cataldo, IZ1DNR, Gianni, I1HYW, Gianni, IK1JNP, Luciano, IK1SOZ and Piero, IK1ZNN, between 17 January and 1 March.

Look for special event station 8J1ANT to be active until 31 March to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Japanese Scientific Research Expeditions in Antarctica. The 8J1ANT special station will be active from the JARL building in Tokyo, operated by JA Hams.
