UK radio hams petition Prime Minister to increase power limit

Radio Amateurs in the UK have started a petition to increase the UK power limit of just 400 watts to 1 kilowatt in line with many other countries.

The petition at the 10 Downing Street website reads:

"We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to increase the power limit for UK radio amateurs from 400 watts.

UK amateurs are limited to 400 watts output. Other EU countries are allowed up to 1000 watts which makes it an uneven playing field in contests."
