UK Amateur Radio Licence Updated

The 'New' Amateur Radio Lifetime Licence was updated on Thursday 8th February in both the online application system as well as the sample one on the Ofcom website.

The updated licence references the new Wireless Telegraphy Act 2006 (reflecting the consolidation of older WT acts inc the 1949 Act and the 2003 Comms Act).

It also includes the long sought after EU35 amendment to the mm-Wave frequency schedules for Intermediate and Full licensees. This preserves UK access to the 75.5GHz band (and sees the final elimination of the 144GHz band from the schedule)

One side effect of the change is that Section-17(1) has one less interpretation clause at the start, causing all the remaining clauses to be renumbered.

If you are registered on the Ofcom website, you can get the latest version of your personal licence by using this procedure - Logon and Edit/Create a new Licence and continue with the defaults as you would have done the first time around and it replaces the pdf file.
