NZ Radio Spectrum Management website provides BBC’s solution

The New Zealand Radio Spectrum Management (RSM) have developed an innovative 'Reception Problems' section on their website. Now aspects of it are being adopted by the BBC.

When the revised New Zealand Radio Spectrum Management (RSM) website went live in July 2007, the "Reception Problems" section innovatively offered downloadable files of moving images and audio examples of some types of interference to assist identification of problems.

The work that went into making the section as clear and useful as possible has recently been recognised by what is probably the world’s best known broadcaster – the BBC.
The BBC are re-vamping their reception issues webpages, and have sought permission from RSM to use our format and some of the text.

A staff member of the BBC spectrum and transmission management team who had previously worked as a policy advisor in MED commended our web model as clear, easy to use and helpful for the consumer. Their request has been approved.
