ISS repeater contacts valid for JAMSAT Five Star Award

It has been announced on the AMSAT Bulletin Board that contacts via the International Space Station (ISS) repeater will be valid for the JAMSAT Five Star Award.

JAMSAT's goal is to get more activity on amateur radio satellite communications, to get more hams interested in this aspect of the hobby and to protect the frequency allocations of the amateur satellites.

To gain this award an applicant is required to establish a QSO with five(5) different stations over five (5) different Satellites. (Total 25 QSL Cards required)

The Award is open to all Radio Amateurs world wide, the rules can be seen at:

The crossband 2 metre to 70cm FM repeater on the International Space Station
(ISS) can be heard on 145.800 MHz FM and the uplink is 437.800 FM, both plus or minus doppler shift. There is no need for CTCSS or toneburst.
