New D-Star Software Radio Group

A new Yahoo email group dedicated to software for receiving and transmitting D-Star Digital Voice has been formed.

In the group's Files section is software to decode D-Star written by Jakub Hruska. It can decode D-STAR callsigns and text messages, what it can't do is decode the audio, a seperate dongle is needed for that.

A description of it says:

This version can stream live decoded data to dvtool for realtime playback using DV Dongle. It also decodes callsigns and user text or messages (like GPS position reports).

You don't need any special hardware, just connect your soundcard to 9600PKT/discriminator output from your receiver. There are some issues with some receivers, in that case, small modification may be needed. If you already modified receiver for decoding trunk control channel or for pager decoding, it should work without problems.
