Scottish 2 metre and 70 cm D-STAR repeaters on-air
Scotland now has D-STAR repeaters operating on both 2 metres and 70 cm.
The RSGB Emerging Technology Co-ordination Committee (ETCC) website reports that on Thursday 14th Februrary 2008 the GB7DG 2m and 70cm D-Star repeaters became operational.
The first contact on 2m was made between GM0OPS and MM1BJT (this is the first operational 2m D-Star repeater in the UK).
The first contact on 70cm was made between GM0OPS and 2M0XXP. Tests will be carried out over the next few days on coverage and any system tweaking.
