Public Consultation - Light Licensing, Licence-Exempt and Commons

The deadline for this consultation is April 23 and Amateur Radio is one of the services mentioned in the report.

The European Radiocommunications Office (ERO) website says that a public consultation titled 'Light Licensing, Licence-Exempt and Commons' is now underway.

The ERO contact for the consultation is Alexander Gulyaev gulyaev@ero.dk

ECC Report 132 can be read at

Annex 3 of the report says that three CEPT administrations who responded to a survey said that Amateur Stations were Licence Exempt.

It should be borne in mind that Amateur Stations are not the same thing as Amateur Radio Operators and Licence Exempt doesn't always mean there are no operator requirements.

For example Sweden says that the Amateur Radio is licence exempted, however, in this case there are operator requirements, an Amateur Radio Certificate.
