Endeavour is in Orbit

About two minutes into flight, the external fuel tank and solid rocket boosters propelling Endeavour into space successfully separated and fell away.
The shuttle and its crew have safely attained low-Earth orbit.

Commander George Zamka is leading the STS-130 mission to the International Space Station aboard space shuttle Endeavour.

Terry Virts Jr. will serve as the pilot. Mission specialists are British-born Nicholas Patrick, KD5PKY, Robert Behnken, KE5GGX Stephen Robinson and Kathryn Hire. Virts will be making his first trip to space.

Endeavour will deliver a third connecting module - the Tranquility node - to the station and a seven-windowed cupola to be used as a control room for robotics. The mission will feature three spacewalks.

NASA Television will broadcast a post-launch news conference from Kennedy Space Center in Florida at no earlier than 5:30 a.m. EST on www.nasa.gov/ntv.
