G3VKR Silent Key

It has to be sadly reported that Noel Richins, G3VKR, passed away yesterday in hospital.

Noel was one of the more controversial characters in the Amateur Radio community, he always had a comment on most subjects. Even if he was not taking part in an active QSO, he would pop in and put his comment in and then disappear.

He was quite an active user of the airwaves and in particular the GB3DY repeater. Often he would give a little tune on his electronic organ just to push the rules to the limit.

Noel was a likable person who became known for one of his commonly used phrases "I’m gowin naa".

Noel in latter years had not been very active on the air, but will I'm sure be remembered and sadly missed.
