Summits On The Air

James M0ZZO will be giving a talk on Summits On The Air (SOTA) to the Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society on the 1st February.

Summits on the Air (SOTA) is an award scheme for Radio Amateurs and Shortwave listeners that encourages portable operation in mountainous areas.

SOTA has been carefully designed to make participation possible for everyone - this is not just for mountaineers! There are awards for activators (those who ascend to the summits) and chasers (who remain in the warmth of their radio shacks!).

James will describe his exploits in activating summits and explain how you can get involved in this fascinating activity.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday 1st February in the Marconi Social Club, Beehive Lane, Great Baddow, Chelmsford, Essex.

Doors open at 7:15pm for a 7:30pm start.
There is ample free parking and a bar is available for
refreshments. Visitors are most welcome.
